Morgan Stanley Co. LLC seeks Executive Director, Equity Delta One Structured Products (DSP) Controller in New York, NY to lead the Product Control team for North America Equity Delta One Structured Products business unit which encompasses multiple business lines and trading across asset classes such as equity swaps, cash equity, derivatives, listed and OTC options, and structured products. Lead and participate in key initiatives across the BU. Lead global change management program to improve the DSP control infrastructure and represent DSP interests in other firm-wide projects. Work with global team of senior controllers to define the target state, understand the gap between the current and target states, and serve as key point of contact representing finance, working with IT, Operations, and Controllers to define projects to deliver enhancements. Develop and maintain relationships with valuation control, legal entity reporting and disclosure, accounting standards policy, Operations and Technology, and BU management to in order to ensure control and to provide value-added analytics to BU and Finance management. Proactively determine and develop a full suite of analytics (balance sheet, revenue, profitability, funding, etc.) as well as key reporting and metrics, and identify optimization efforts to help improve performance. Ensure adequate oversight of all key controls supporting the business unit (BU) revenues, PL, and balance sheet and full compliance with US GAAP. Review the business' capital and balance sheet position of the business unit and help analyze funding needs. Provide value added analytics on revenue and profitability of the business to help BU understand and manage their financial resources and funding costs. Manage, develop and lead a team of 14 controllers across two locations, New York and Glasgow, including goal development, performance and promotion discussions, identification and resolution of staffing needs, and compensation discussions. Review new proposals for new business activity and structured products to ensure they can be effectively controlled and appropriately supported. Identify gaps, implement mitigating controls, perform periodic review of controls performed in and out of the group to substantiate the books records and escalate issues as appropriate.

REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Accounting, or related field or equivalent, and eight (8) years of experience preparing financial reports and statements, specifically for PL, in accordance with US GAAP. Five (5) of the eight (8) years of experience must include providing product control services including supervising control duties, developing control procedures, and reviewing balance sheets; supporting equity products trading, including cash, derivatives, options, and swaps; and working with business units including operations, trading, and risk management to increase efficiency and managing business relationships on behalf of a global financial services institution.
