Morgan Stanley Co. LLC seeks an Executive Director, Global
Macro Strategist, Cross Asset Strategy Group, Research Division in
New York, NY to conduct independent research of financial markets
and the global economy in order to provide market insight and
recommend investment ideas and trading opportunities to clients.
Formulate the Cross Asset Strategy Group's investment views and
asset allocation decisions across global financial markets and
asset classes including equities, government bonds, credit
securities, foreign exchange, and commodities leveraging experience
with valuation models, market pricing patterns, performance
factors, and the impact of macro drivers that contribute to the
formation of investment views and trading ideas. Produce, write and
coordinate the production of weekly (Cross-Asset Navigator) and
monthly (GDP and GIFT) research reports on the markets and economy,
detailing the Firm's investment views and rationale. Evaluate the
current prices of securities and compare to valuation models and
historical patterns to identify buying and selling opportunities
for securities. Examine historical returns, risks, and
relationships within and across different asset classes, and
conduct quantitative analysis of economic and financial data to
develop metrics to assess financial securities. Assess global
economic developments, including the growth outlook across
countries, potential policy actions, and the risks to growth and
the economy, and interpret impact on financial markets. Communicate
investment ideas and research to clients (small and large groups)
and internal sales through multiple channels, including internal
emails and presentations; client meetings and calls held at company
offices and client offices globally; and, conference presentations
for clients. Organize and moderate a monthly internal meeting among
the firm's senior economists and strategists. Serve as the point
person to coordinate the views of the global team of economics and
market strategists. Supervise two junior Analysts. Utilize
statistical and econometric skills in analyzing market and economic
data utilizing Bloomberg, FactSet, Thomson Reuters, Datastream, and
Haver Analytics. Build databases and statistical models used for
future research.
Skills Required:
REQUIREMENTS
PhD degree in Economics, Finance, Statistics or a related field or
equivalent and at least 4 years of experience conducting investment
strategy research in order to recommend investment ideas and
identify trading opportunities on behalf of a global financial
services organization. Prior experience must include conducting
research in various asset classes, such as equities, credit,
interest rates, FX, and commodities leveraging experience with
valuation models, market pricing patterns, performance factors, and
the impact of macro drivers that contribute to the formation of
investment views and trading ideas; analyzing market and economic
data utilizing research tools such as Bloomberg and FactSet;
independently producing and writing published research reports
detailing investment views and their rationale; building databases
and statistical models used for future research; and presenting
investment views to small and large groups. Employer will also
accept a Master's degree plus at least 8 years of experience in the
above listed areas.
