GENERAL DUTIES

The Associate Administrator manages one or more College administrative functions.  He/she develops, implements, and assesses programs and services to produce high-quality results and meet strategic goals.  He/she also coordinates activities among different units, and with areas outside the College, and may oversee staff, budget, operations, and facilities.

CAMPUS SPECIFIC INFORMATION
The Executive Director will be working closely with the Vice President of Institutional Advancement, directors, faculty, volunteers, and colleagues (as appropriate) to design and implement identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship strategies to build recognition and support for LaGuardia Community College.  

As a key member of Institutional Advancement team, the Executive Director will contribute broadly to all aspects of the fulfillment of the institution's mission and growth. LaGuardia Community College seeks an experienced professional with demonstrated ability to respond effectively to the following challenges:

LaGuardia Community College is part of the City University of New York (CUNY) with access to the libraries, computer systems, senior colleges and graduate school of that system. Conveniently located 15 minutes from Times Square in the rapidly developing community of Long Island City in western Queens, LaGuardia has an enrollment of approximately 17,500 students in academic programs. Sixty percent of the student body is immigrant, coming from over 160 countries and speaking 127 different languages. More than one in three LaGuardia graduates enrolls in private and public four-year colleges within a year of graduation. The College was named one of the top three large community colleges in the United States by the Community College Survey of Student Engagement in 2005. In 2006 LaGuardia received the MetLife Foundation Community College Excellence Award for its innovation in post-secondary education.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
This position is in CUNY's Executive Compensation Plan.  All executive positions require a minimum of a Bachelor's degree and eight years' related experience.  Additional qualifications are defined below by the College.
 
OTHER QUALIFICATIONS
Experience in design and leadership of development, marketing, and public relations programs within a complex higher education environment and/or non-profit organization, resulting in marked improvement and growth.

 
COMPENSATION
Commensurate with education and experience.
