Executive Manager, Asset Finance Centre
Institutional Banking Markets (IBM) is responsible for the provision of products and services to nearly 3000 major corporate, institutional and government clients. This is achieved through origination, structuring and execution of on and off balance sheet products that are enhanced through the efficient application of taxation, accounting, risk and capital management technologies. Institutional Banking Markets is the primary face to the market for all complex financing and advisory functions for the Bank's corporate and government clients.
The Asset Finance business' vision is to be the trusted advisor for customers considering asset purchase, operation and funding. There are 3 teams within the Asset Finance area: Product Management, Process Excellence Analytics and Asset Finance Centre. As a whole, we are responsible for all aspects of the management of the asset finance portfolios.
The Asset Finance Centre (AFC) is a national sales and service centre that is responsible for the origination, credit decisioning and fulfilment of asset finance transactions from the Bank's proprietary channels in Local Business Banking (LBB), Corporate Financial Services (CFS), Regional and Agribusiness (RAB), Institutional clients (IBM), and Private Bank (PB). There is also a direct sales team who assists external customers in their asset financing needs.
The scope of solutions provided by the AFC includes hire purchase, equipment loan, novated lease and finance lease.
Role Purpose
- Build strong relationships with our distribution segments (LBB, RAB, CFS, IB PB) to ensure AFC is delivering consistent and accurate service;
- Support the EM of Business Improvement Analytics to execute process improvements initiatives to improve customer service delivery;
- Develop and grow the AFC team with a particular focus on coaching and the development of a strong team leader group.
Work of the role
- Day to day leadership of the Asset Finance Centre
- Handle escalations and objections from distribution channels
- Work closely with Asset Finance Operations (AFO) to ensure a seamless process experience by our REs and customers
- Identify the best way to successfully manage segment partners and relationships
- Consistent high quality of coaching for direct reports and monitoring the quality of coaching in the business, including the development and fostering of potential candidates into AFC leadership roles.
- Proactively seek feedback from REs and centre EMs on AFC's service quality
- Work with and support the EM of Business Improvement Analytics to deliver initiatives

- MoR authorities in respect of the reports one removed

- Ensuring the CFC maintains a high level of credit quality operational risk quality in its processes and policies.
Qualifications and Experience Required
- Demonstrated experience in leading and coaching a high performance sales and service team
- Outstanding interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively at multiple levels in the organisation
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to drive business outcomes and lead initiatives
- Background in Car or Asset Finance, with a deep understanding of the sector
- Strategic thinking and ability to develop the strategic direction and pathway for the business.
- Understanding of Lean Six Sigma / Process Improvements principles
- Contribute to the broader AF strategy
- Manage expenses and handle other administration responsibilities of the AFC
- Drive / improve the sales capability of our direct sales team to support the overall AF strategy of improving mindshare / market share
