Retail Banking Services (RBS) is the public face of CommBank, delivering a seamless banking experience for the future, to our 10 million + personal and small business customers. We offer market-leading products and services, supported by some of the world's best systems and processes.
The Strategy Transformation Team is responsible for leading the development of the strategic agenda for the retail bank. The team works with the business to manage delivery to this strategy through major transformation programs and large scale strategic projects. Currently, the team comprises three major functions to support these objectives including Strategy, Transformation and Projects Investments.
The opportunity
As a senior member of the Strategy Team, reporting to the General Manager Strategy Transformation, you will be expected to shape the strategic agenda within the Retail Bank by facilitating the development of the strategy and delivering projects that support this strategy.
Specifically, you will contribute to: identifying and exploring areas for growth and improvement across the Retail Bank; leading and driving retail wide and cross business unit initiatives; driving the annual strategic planning process for the Retail Bank; and undertaking dedicated analysis and problem solving for a range of issues across the Retail Bank.
What will success look like?
- You develop and maintain strong working relationships with key functional areas
- You operate as a strategic thought partner to the business and in particular key stakeholders across the retail leadership team
- You build strategic capability within the broader team
- You own and lead large scale strategic projects for the retail business, including managing teams to undertake the following:
- Development and maintenance of the RBS strategy and support priorities
- Deliver specific strategic projects through analysis, research and problem solving
- Analyse business performance and identify value creation opportunities
- Prepare documents for the Retail Bank Leadership Team, the CEO and the Board
- You drive the annual strategic planning process for the retail bank
What will help you succeed?
- You ideally have top-tier management consultancy experience
- You have exposure to the financial services sector, though this is not essential
- You have demonstrated ability to take ownership of large scale strategic projects
- You have sound demonstrated ability to lead high performing teams
- You have highly developed, sophisticated stakeholder management and communication skills
- You have strong problem-solving and analytical capability
- You are Bachelor degree qualified in any discipline at a minimum
- You are ideally MBA qualified with post-MBA experience though this is not essential
