The Office of Government Affairs is seeking a candidate to join our Asia-Pacific team based in Beijing. The ideal candidate will have a strong knowledge, background and interest in policy and economic issues.  The individual must be an effective communicator and a quick learner, developing expertise in understanding the issues related to Goldman Sachs’ businesses in China.  This individual will have experience and/or qualifications related to public policy, international regulatory and/or legal matters, with an understanding of China and Asia-Pacific policy and economic issues.  The ideal candidate will be able to multitask and work efficiently in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. Committed to delivering high-quality work, he or she will be comfortable with iterative processes of developing and refining analyses and will proactively seek opportunities to develop professionally.
 

The Office of Government Affairs

The Office of Government Affairs (OGA) is responsible for overseeing the firm’s regional public policy initiatives. OGA is a function within the Asia-Pacific Executive Office, which works across all areas of the firm on business development, strategic analyses, cross-divisional projects, and other management initiatives for senior leadership in the region.

 

Job Functions and Duties

-  Monitor and assess key policy and economic developments of interest to the firm and our clients

-  Communicate the implications of these issues to business colleagues and the firm’s regional leadership

Qualifications

-  The ideal candidate will have experience and/or qualifications related to public policy, international regulatory or legal matters, with a particular focus on China and the Asia-Pacific

-   Outstanding writing and verbal communication, as well as presentation skills

-   Strong knowledge of regional policy and macroeconomic issues

-   Excellent attention to detail

-   Must be able to deliver results in a high pressure, quick-paced environment

-   Fluency in written and spoken English and Mandarin
