THIS POSITION IS LOCATED IN BEDMINSTER, NEW JERSEY. The Executive Assistant is responsible for providing comprehensive administrative support and office management for retired Merck CEO, Dr. Roy Vagelos. Primary activities include and are not limited to the following: Responsible for exercising professional judgment in handling all communications with the office, with a strong focus on the awareness of the confidential nature of the information flowing in and out of the office In order to assist the executive, the incumbent must partner with many internal and external stakeholders, including members of the Executive Committee and Board of Directors. Communication Skills must be at the highest professional level to effectively interact with Merck executives and internal/external clients to maintain workflow Work requires the coordination and performance of multiple tasks while understanding the project principles and technical skills related to own work assignments. Produces/completes various work assignments requiring advanced analytical ability, independent judgment, creativity and problem solving skills. Provides extensive calendar management Coordinates multi-leg domestic and international travel May coordinate special projects Maintains appropriate filing system to provide prompt retrieval of all reports, correspondence, and other materials
