Executive Vice President, Chief Risk Officer recruitment

include a bank, a trust company and an investment management company. Capital G
employs approximately 200 personnel in modern premises located in the City of
Hamilton, Bermuda's capital.

Our client is currently seeking an experienced CRO. The Chief Risk Officer position reports to the President and Chief Executive Officer and facilitates the execution of Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) processes and infrastructure as a key enabler to achieving the business objectives of the organization with oversight of credit, market and operational risk and compliance.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Advises the Board and senior management and supports them in the establishment and communication of the organization’s ERM objectives and direction

• Functions as the owner of risk management processes and ensures they function effectively

• Assists the CEO and the executive team to develop and communicate risk management policies, risk appetite and risk limits

• Facilitates enterprise-wide risk assessments and monitors priority risks across the organization

• Promotes a firm-wide culture of risk management

• Implements appropriate systems, controls and risk reporting to the CEO, executive team, Board and senior management so that risk can be managed effectively and in a cost-effective manner

• As a key member of the senior management team, helps develop strategy in manner which integrates risk management and controls

• Advises senior management on the financial implications and risk related to key issues and important strategic decisions

• Establishes, communicates and facilitates the use of appropriate ERM methodologies, tools and techniques

• Works with business units to establish, maintain and continuously improve risk management capabilities

• Advises the CEO and the executive team to assist with capital and resource allocation decisions

• Conducts risk management education and training

• Supports the development of the risk management team; functions as a mentor to direct reports

The successful candidate must have:

• MBA and/or a professional accounting designation is preferred, with 15 years’ relevant progressive experience

• A track record of a strong advisory relationship with the executive management team

• Experience across Operational, Compliance, Market and Credit Risk in a financial institution

• Proven track record at a Board level

• Sophisticated balance sheet and risk management skills.

• Strong analytical skills and sound technical ability; outstanding on detail orientation

• Strong leadership and communication skills

• Ability to manage and develop a diverse, cross-functional team

• High credibility and strong reputation with regulators in the markets s/he has operated in

• Experience with MA activities, new business ventures, evaluations and organization change
