Executive/Manager – Economic Advisory – Economist recruitment

At Ernst and Young our Valuation Business Modelling (VBM)/Economic Advisory team is looking to expand on its existing economics practice to capture exciting opportunities, particularly the public sector.

VBM work provides the opportunity for a variety of assignments, from office-based to client-based work; from an assignment that lasts a couple of days to very large assignments working as part of a multi-disciplinary team. The nature of the work is project based and covers a spectrum of industries and asset classes. As no two projects are the same, the work requires a high level of adaptability, flexibility and innovation.

The Economics Advisory team provide deep sector knowledge with strong technical skills in economics, econometrics and quantitative analysis to address key issues in strategy, regulation, competition, planning, valuation and government policy.

Your responsibilities as an Executive/Manager in Economic Advisory will include:

- Providing or contributing to economic analysis as part of client engagements

- Preparing and presenting clear reports to support these analyses and solutions.

Qualifications/skills you'll need as an Executive/Manager in Economic Advisory:

- Suitable applicants will have substantial experience as a public policy sector economist and will be
highly numerate and analytical Master-level Economics graduates

- Strong academic and professional background in Microeconomics, Macroeconomics or Econometrics

- Experience of applying economic theory to the development and evaluation of public policy: economic impact assessment and evaluation of government programmes with the application of
Cost Benefit Analysis techniques

- Experience with the standard government approach to economic analysis and the application of
economic impact assessment according to government guidelines

- A strong understanding of Excel

- Experience of game theory and economics of information.
