The Sonoma County Fairgrounds is seeking a qualified Exhibits Coordinator to fill one full-time vacancy. This employment list may also be used to fill future full-time, part-time, or extra-help (temporary) vacancies as they occur during the active status of the list.

The Fair: The Sonoma County Fair is among our region's most time-honored and cherished traditions. Over the past 75 years, the Fair has grown to become one of the most popular in the state; famous for its top quality horse racing, stunning flower show, and constant innovation in family entertainment. The Fair continues its unswerving commitment to showcase and provide education on the wealth of our agricultural community.

The Position: The Exhibits Coordinator works under general direction to plan, organize and administer the Sonoma County Fairgrounds Competitive Exhibits  Agricultural Education Program. The Exhibits Coordinator also plans, organizes and directs the Sonoma County Harvest Fair. The incumbent must be able to effectively train and supervise staff and have a thorough knowledge of Fair operations.

The Ideal Candidate: The Fair is seeking an experienced and skilled individual who is experienced in coordinating all phases of exhibits at district and/or county fairs.  In addition, the ideal candidate will have the following attributes: 

 

The formal job class title for the Exhibits Coordinator position is Premium and Exhibit Coordinator and this position is in the unclassified portion of the County Civil Service System as defined in Section 5 of the Civil Service Ordinance.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Academic coursework which directly relates to the knowledge and abilities listed. Normally, these courses would include public relations, recreation and agriculture.

Experience: Considerable experience which would provide the knowledge and abilities. Normally, responsible experience in organizing and managing major shows or exhibits in district or county fairs, or other related activities would provide such an opportunity.
