If so, an outstanding opportunity has arisen at a leading commodities trading business for Gas, Power and Emissions product control analyst.
The team provides real-time front-line control and management information for management and traders. The the trades are low volume, high complexity and therefore you will work in a very varied role. This will include daily profit and loss measurement, trading exposure reporting, and risk reporting. Because of the unique position of the team you will also be involved in broader commercial activities.
The individual will be responsible for:
- Responsibility for all product control activities associated with one or more complex trading books
- Production of daily exposure and PL, ensuring that all positions and PL moves are clearly understood in line with the trading strategies
- Producing succinct and informative commentary on the books performance for the Front Office and Management Team
- Contributing to process improvement work to streamline the PL reporting framework
- Developing a deep understanding of their books, with focus on the Power Emissions Markets, and the businesses activities in the market
- Developing a strong relationship with the front office, fellow team members and other teams within the business
Requirements of the successful candidate:
- Experience in Product Control or Trade Control
- Maths or Physics background
- Ideally a Part Qualified or Qualified Accountant
- An understanding of financial products would be an advantage
