Job Description: Job Headline:Help desk - Description: The IT Support Technician position provides technical and administrative support for all LAN, WAN, communication, electronic systems and a variety of application software. This position also maintains adequate knowledge of existing hardware and software in use in all areas to maximize efficiency of the network and the users utilization of the network. RESPONSIBILITIES: Provide computer/network support related to software and hardware problems reported by users (i.e. monitors, printers, modems, hard drives, CD rom, Ethernet cards, etc.) Ability to install new software applications or hardware peripherals such memory, hard drive, cards, etc. Participate in projects with high operational, tactical, technical or business impact. Maintains and displays exceptional customer service to all staff Maintain standards for software and hardware, aligned to corporate directives Answer calls arriving at the IT Department and accurately identify, prioritize and log the service requests within the established standards Knowledge of network resources, i.e. shared drives Knowledge of basic networking technology. Provide off hours and on call support Basic knowledge of SAI and Ivara Basic knowledge of the following softwares o Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook) o Windows 7 COMPETENCIES AND ABILITIES: Must be self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision Excellent planning and organizational skills Must be able to multitask efficiently Must have good verbal communication skills Must have a commitment to get the job done and a sense of urgency to complete critical issues Demonstrable ability to know when to ask for help / clarification Must be able to lift boxes and equipment of 30 or more pounds REQUIREMENTS: Associate degree plus two years experience in client/server environment or two years of relevant computer experience may substitute for one year formal education.
