Experienced Network Engineer for a Quantitative Hedge Fund recruitment
A highly renowned, privately held investment management firm is looking to hire an experienced Network Architect.
The firm focus on research and development of quantitative models which work together in order to identify trading patterns within the markets and then exploit them. These profits are obtained from inefficiencies in the prices of electronically traded financial instruments across the globe. The ever changing landscape of the markets requires them to continually make significant investments in research and technology resources.
The successful candidate will work closely with the quantitative traders, programmers and senior management to provide a high performance, robust and reliable infrastructure.
The focus will be on the following:
- Low latency and high volume trade processing.
- High frequency data capture and storage.
- CPU intensive/real-time calculations performed for research and risk management.
Skills required:
- Deep understanding of several UNIX/Windows operating systems.
- Experience building networks which have had a focus on performance/latency.
- Understanding of TCP/IP routing.
- Broad knowledge of a wide variety of enterprise computing systems.
- Strong programming/scripting ability. Python/Perl is particularly desirable.
