Expert C++ Programmer Required, High Frequency Algorithmic Trading Hedge Fund, London recruitment
This fund trades around 10 million shares every minute, and requires the highest level of quality from their systems to cope with the large volume and ensure they take advantage of every opportunity.
The ability to write sleek, elegant code with optimal performance is paramount to this role – you’ll probably be doing this in a Unix / Linux based environment, have expert scripting skills and contribute to the broader C++ Development community.
Candidates can expect to receive salaries in the region of £50,000 to £70,000 for this role, although there is no official cap and candidates will be judged on their individual merit and potential contribution. On top of this bonuses can (and regularly do) exceed 100% of the basic salary in some cases, as well as a generous benefits package. You can re-invest your shares in the company at incredibly favourable rates and see your equity increase exponentially.
Your primary development language will be C++ (although any OO will be considered for truly outstanding candidates) and you will have a few years experience in the commercial sector working on exceptionally low latency systems, providing high quality solutions to extremely complex problems in a timely fashion. You will be working in an environment populated primarily with graduates from the top universities in the UK and US, and should have a similar academic pedigree with outstanding grades since GCSE level (or equivalent).
Technical Expertise:
- Extensive C++ development knowledge
- Experience on multithreaded and single threaded applications
- Commercial experience in the UNIX/ Linux (and Windows) environments
- Knowledge of Databases (SQL, Oracle, MS SQL Server etc)
- Evidence of experience working on at least one large, complex software project
- Any expertise in other OO or Functional languages will be beneficial
- Knowledge of the financial markets will be helpful, but an interest is key
Educational requirements:
- BSc, MSc or PhD in Computer Science or similar field (1st Class or 2:1 grade)
- Attended a Top university (Ivy League, Russell Group or equivalent)
- Top A-level (or equivalent) grades in technical subjects
