Expert Trading Systems Developer/Liaison
JOB DESCRIPTION
As an expansion growth, this leading financial institution is looking to add the right candidate from the best of both worlds: an expert in programming trading systems and an exceptional business communication liaison. This new team is rapidly growing and is in need of a programmer with C++, Java, Python and Matlab experience. This hands-on role will work directly with the IT team, trading team, sales people and managers across the financial institution. This is not a role for a pure programmer; this must be a candidate who demonstrates the keen communication/business expertise of a client facing MD but also must possess the programming skills of an Ivy League Computer Science graduate.
Location: New York, NY
The role:
- Develop, program and maintain trading system and risk management systems.
- Understand the infrastructure of trading systems and have prior professional experience with the development process.
- Work with object oriented databases and be self-sufficient with large data sets.
- Knowledge and communication skills for interactions with all parts of a financial institution.
- Design and optimize current trading systems with little help from senior staff.
Requirements:
- 3-7 years experience in programming, development of trading systems, creating programs/application.
- Expert communication skills and ability to present knowledge in simplistic fashion.
- Knowledge of basis data structures: array, hash table, linked list, binary tree, b-tree, heap, skiplist, graph.
- Understand big-O, little-O, P vs NP, lexing, parsing, Turing, Church, Godel, etc.
- Ph.D. or Masters in computer science or a quantitative subject.
