The Design Group Energy Division, in conjunction with our established client, one of Calgarys most dynamic and respected energy companies is accepting applicants for Exploitation/Reservoir Engineer.

Our clients busy and active NE BC Business Unit has an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated and experienced Exploitation/Reservoir Engineer.  The successful incumbent will be a key member of a multi-disciplinary team whose focus is to identify, appraise and capture new and developing liquids rich unconventional resource plays.  You will have strong engineering skills, be an excellent communicator with well-developed interpersonal skills, and sound business acumen. 

Duties:

·         Provide integrated engineering support working closely with GG, land, drilling and completions on unconventional shale gas plays in the WCSB.

·         Appraise regional shale and hybrid plays to determine whether the potential opportunity is economically sound.

·         Integrate geological, geophysical and engineering data to understand, characterize, and rank a portfolio of unconventional resources and progress the opportunities via land capture and appraisal drilling.

·         Project manage and execute evaluated drilling programs.

·         Develop  project approval request material and documentation, while participating in PEER review.

·         Create strong networks internally and externally.

Qualifications:

·         Professional Engineer with five plus years of experience in Exploitation/Reservoir Engineering within the WCSB, previous shale gas exposure would be considered a strong asset.

·         A self-starter who thrives working within a multi-disciplinary environment.

·         Strong reservoir engineering skill-set, with exposure to pressure transient analysis and reservoir simulation.

·         Strong analytical skills primarily in economics. 

·         Solid knowledge of drilling and completions, especially with horizontal well technology.

·         Good computer skills MS Office, Accumap, ValNav, PEEP
