This global mining group continues to expand and they are offering a number of long-term contract opportunities within their exploration group. You will have the chance to work across multiple projects and enhance your career.
As an Exploration Geologist you will join a highly technical and long-standing team to assist with the evaluation and interpretation of various targets in around their existing deposits. You will work on a 8:6 FIFO roster and will supervise the drilling contractor, logging RC chips, completing field mapping/sampling (including designing programmes), collection/input/review data and generate future drill programmes based on these results. You will also be able to learn / apply your computer skills generating x-sections and manipulating data to assist with the ongoing development of project resource models.
You will bring a Tertiary Qualification in Geology with recent experience in a field based role. Knowledge of exploration protocols and the ability to effectively supervise drilling activities will be essential. You will also need to bring a down-to-earth manner and a willingness to support and assist your colleagues as project needs change. This adaptable approach will provide scope to broaden your skills.
The position is offered as an initial 6 month contract, however, you will need to be available for longer-term employment. An industry leading pay rate will be offered and this will be based on the quality and relevance of your previous experience.
