This position will reside within the Prospect Maturation organization of the future ConocoPhillips, the upstream company. Alaska Overview ConocoPhillips Alaska, Inc. has more than 50 years of business history in Alaska. ConocoPhillips, with about 1,100 Alaska employees, has major ownership in and operates the Kuparuk River Unit, the Colville River Unit (Alpine), the Greater Mooses Tooth Unit (in the National Petroleum Reserve Alaska), the North Cook Inlet Unit and the Beluga River Unit fields, as well as the Kenai LNG Plant. Additionally, ConocoPhillips has major ownership in the BP-operated Prudhoe Bay Unit and owns 28 percent of the Trans-Alaska Pipeline System (TAPS). ConocoPhillips Alaska Inc is currently accepting applications for an experienced Exploration Geophysicist. Position will lead exploration efforts in various plays for the Alaska Prospect Maturation Exploration Group predominantly on the North Slope and Chukchi Sea. Responsibilities We are seeking an Exploration Geophysicist with seismic delineation and characterization experience in a variety of depositional environments to develop and fully characterize exploration prospects. The candidate should have eight or more years of experience as a geoscientist in the oil gas industry. The Exploration Geophysicist is responsible for: Generating integrated geosciences assessments of exploration prospects leads, providing bid round recommendations for onshore new acreage acquisition, and performing regional scale play evaluations. Interpretation of both 2D 3D seismic data sets; both full stack and AVO attribute volumes QC oversight of seismic data reprocessing primary aimed at quantifying AVO Integration of seismic and well log data to develop geophysical models to characterize the expected seismic responses. Interacting with drilling, reservoir engineering, facilities engineers, and financial analyst to properly characterize the risk, resource volumes, and economic value of exploration prospects. Working closely with the development groups who manage production units in the Alaska BU to integrate the exploration program with producing / discovered assets.
