Job Summary and Mission
Manage export transactions, including all related activities for an assigned base of accounts. Set priorities for team, expediting transactions and tasks to meet customer expectations and government requirements. Monitor the quality of service including documents produced by the team. Models and acts in accordance with our guiding principles and core values.
Summary of Key Responsibilities
Responsibilities and essential job functions include, but are not limited to the following:
- Develop and maintain excellent customer service to internal and external customers.
- Process documents and information through the established export system.
- Assume responsibility for establishing specific new accounts as requested by supervisor.
- Review all documentation and forms, maintain communication with clients, and review their export process on a regular basis.
- Maintain client profile and databases.
- Coordinate the processing of shipments to the carrier and any government agency examinations, and consularization of documents that may be required.
- Perform all functions within defined time frames for processing the delivery of cargo, and invoicing the client.
- Conduct the timely collection of the receivables.
- Reply to overseas inquiries in a clear, concise and timely manner.
- Maintain clear, oral and written communication with clients.
- Provide excellent and timely customer service by proactively informing clients of the status of their shipments, answering questions and referring advanced technical questions to the appropriate staff member.
- Monitor the team’s performance and identify transactions and tasks that require special handling or expediting.
- Review all shipment export documentation and client invoice packages prior to distribution.
- Adhere to all international shipping regulations.
- Advise supervisor of any problems or irregularities discovered within assigned transactions.
Summary of Experience and Education
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Associates Degree preferred.
- Minimum four to six years of related experience.
- One to three years industry experience preferred.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Accurate typing skills and/or data entry skills.
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office, internet, web-based and job specific software applications.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide using units of U.S. or international currency, weight, volume, and distance measurements.
- Responds promptly and professionally to customer needs and solicits customer feedback to improve performance.
- Ability to read, write and speak English fluently.
- Read, analyze and interpret complex procedures or regulations and write correspondence and procedural documents.
- Speak effectively before groups of customers or employees.
- Recommends solutions to common problems.
- Gives and welcomes feedback, and contributes to building a positive team spirit.
- Consistently at work and on time.
