External Communications Manager Job in Montreal, Quebec Canada

Key:

 

With no direct report responsibilities, this person will direct, develop and implement communications and public relations programs that promote, enhance and protect the Company, its interests and its products (both externally and internally). Manage communication issues that arise across Canada for specific brands. Identify and analyze communication trends, threats and opportunities in Company and provide counsel to business units.

Deliverables:

• Plans, develops and implements efficient and pro-active communications activities to promote Company communication objectives.

• Plans, develops and executes innovative public relations and stakeholder engagement strategies to support business objectives.

• Enhances and protects Company’s corporate reputation and image to support the business interests of the company.

• Anticipates and prepares for potentially negative trends or events that could harm the Company.

• Supervise PR agencies, tracks progress, ensures deadlines are met, ensure quality and consistency of materials presented/developed.

• Proofreads communication documents in both French and English.

• Upon request, acts as ‘deputy’ for Director, Communications with various functions, to facilitate their punctual communications needs (crisis management, special projects, etc.)

• Identifies and seeks out opportunities for favorable product and company exposure.

Overview:

• Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, or Public relations.

• A minimum of 6+ years’ related experience.

• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, in French and in English.

• Proficiency in the use of MS Office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

• Sound knowledge of budget preparation and management.

• Excellent project management and organizational skills.

• Previous pharmaceutical PR is a clear asset, so is experience in patient group advocacy and/or governmental relations and/or product reimbursement.

• Excellent knowledge of the Canadian media environment as well as good knowledge of the Canadian regulatory reimbursement environment.

• A collaborative initiator

• Social media experience is an asset
