Ability to Obtain Interim Clearance (Pre-Start) and Final Clearance (Post Start) - US Citizenship Required about security clearance definitions Position Description This position is located in Malaysia and provides Contractor Instructor Services to the Royal Malaysian Air Force (RMAF) as part of a Foreign Military Sales contract. Provides academic, simulator, and flight instruction to RMAF pilots and Weapons Systems Operators in the RMAF F/A-18 aircraft. Conducts familiarization, qualification, upgrade, standardization, flight, and ground instruction in support of RMAF courses ranging from CAT I to advanced training, including air-to-air gunnery, day/night in-flight refueling, and day/night low level training. Maintains aircrew training materials and courseware. Assists the RMAF operations and training staff in development of aircrew instruction philosophy, evaluation criteria, and approach for standardizing training materials. Establishes qualifications and training standards. Primary training site is at Butterworth AB in Malaysia. Deploys to other sites in and out of Malaysia at RMAF discretion to support training operations. Accompanies senior RMAF representatives to international F/A-18 related conferences at RMAF discretion. International travel required to attend NATOPs and safety related conferences on behalf of the RMAF. Job requires completion of appropriate RMAF F/A-18 requalification training if not current in the aircraft, and graduation from the RMAF Instructor Under Training syllabus. Job requires compliance with NATOPs 3710.7U standards including recurring water swim physiology and hypoxia training. Technical + Aircraft Knowledge Complete knowledge of airplane components, systems and terminology at a GenFam level. + Aircraft Operations Complete knowledge and ability to use standard crew resource management, weight and balance calculations, navigation procedures, airspace, meteorology, aircraft performance data, communication operations, flight planning, industry regulations and pilot aviation skills to perform aircraft operations. + Flight Instruction Techniques Intermediate knowledge of flight instruction techniques (e.g., analysis of student errors, planning of instructional periods, assessment of progress, laws of learning) for aircraft. The ability to comprehend and communicate program related operational requirements. + Flight Safety Complete knowledge of company and industry safety initiatives and strategies to reduce the world aircraft accident rate. Knowledge of operational flight safety, including industry-wide current safety topics (e.g., approach and landing, upset, Controlled Flight into Terrain CFIT ). Basic Qualifications For Consideration Do you have experience as a U.S. Navy or USMC F/A-18 NATOPS pilot? Do you have experience with F/A-18 NATOPS/ OPNAVINST 3710.7U (section 8.3.2.18) Anthropometric Requirements for duty in an ejection seat aircraft? Do you have experience flying F/A-18 aircraft within the last 2 years? Are you willing to relocate to Malaysia? Do you have at least 1000 hours in the F/A-18 and do you have experience as a Division Lead?
