We are currently seeking a 1st Shift Fabrication Supervisor in our Nuclear Component Manufacturing group within our Nuclear Power Plants Business Unit. Based out of Newington, NH, the Nuclear Component Manufacturing plant manufactures specialty equipment for new nuclear power plants and major replacement projects.
In this position, a Fabrication Supervisor can expect to perform the following duties:
- Support Westinghouse continuous improvement initiatives, such as Customer 1st, Human Performance (HuP), WFMS, etc.
- Provide assistance to the Fabrication Manager by maintaining oversight of department budgets throughout the year and insure that they are positive relative to objectives.
- Provide appropriate communication to management regarding issues that may affect routine operations.
- Maintain constant communication with site safety representatives and insure that all work being performed is in compliance with all site safety standards.
- Assume responsibility for cost, quality, and delivery performance for all products under your control.
- Train all employees within your area of responsibility.
- Maintain the highest level of housekeeping (6S) in your area of responsibility.
- Work with Supply Chain and site requisitioners to insure that materials and services are ordered in the proper manner and with the proper level of authorization.
- Coordinate activities with the maintenance group to insure department equipment is properly maintained.
- Work with Manufacturing Engineering to resolve any issues relative to the manufacture of components
- Partner with the Quality organization to implement quality improvement initiatives including but not limited to: Process certification, Corrective Action Program (CAPS), Relentless Root Cause, and Mistake proofing.
- Work with the Customer 1st team to implement and maintain continuous improvement initiatives.
- Oversight of company policies and procedures.
A successful candidate would be familiar with and/or have experience with the following:
- At least 1 year of experience in a leadership position, required.
- 6 or more years of experience in Fabrication and Welding. Experience with GTAW, SAW, SMAW, welding processes required.
- Experience reading and understand work instructions (work orders) and drawings.
- Experience with American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) code, beneficial.
- Experience in Machining processes, preferred.
- High School Diploma
