Facilities Design Supervisor Job in Edmonton, Alberta Canada

Design Group Staffing is currently recruiting for a Facilities Design Supervisor for our Edmonton client.

 

Job duties:

·Fully accountable for assigned projects being completed within financial and scheduling constraints, as well as being in compliance with regulatory, environmental, health and safety requirements.

·Accountable for the quality, cost, scope and schedules of all work performed by project engineers, consultants and for the engineering work performed by vendors and contractors.

·Accountable to ensure compliance with Project Procedures, design standards (includes providing recommendations for improvement), and regulatory requirements.

·Responsible to ensure that a high level of communication is maintained within internal team members and internal and external stakeholders as well as between the Company and the engineering service provider and serves as the key interface with all internal personnel and the engineering service provider to ensure comprehensive work scope and interdisciplinary alignment

·For new projects, provides support and engineering input to Business Development Engineering during the final stage of the project development phase.

·For new projects, provides leadership to the design consultant in the preparation of the FEED (scope definition and DBM completion) and cost estimate.

·Define the resources, and communicate the roles responsibilities for the people working during detailed design and supporting the construction phase.

·Accountable to ensure all required materials, building permits, proximity agreements, crossing agreements and road use agreements are available to meet construction requirements.

·Manage request for information (RFIs) and supports construction in managing work extra authorizations, (WEAs)

·Effectively leads, manages and fosters multi-discipline, cross functional teams in a project structure, using effective interpersonal and project management tools and techniques

·Analyzes the effective use of resources; identifying issues and addressing to solve problems and ensure control and measurement of work.

·Provides information to and solicits consensus from affected internal stakeholders

·Leads the recruitment, selection and allocation of staff, as well as integration, training, and development.

·Manage scope. Ensure design work is developed according to approved scope, and required scope changes are subject to required approving process

·Responsible for providing project management reporting on all activities within assigned area.

·Work with the consultant and the project team and functional leads to coordinate activities, identify and mitigate risks, and identify and resolve engineering concerns and issues.

·Provides leadership and mentorship to team members.Accountable for managing the use of resources, conducting performance reviews, and coordinating staff development.

·Responsible for providing direction/input in the tender and quote analysis,and award of construction contracts and purchase orders

·Responsible to provide project field support during construction and commissioning activities

·Ensure project technical records are properly documented and filed.

·Capital budgets for assigned projects range upwards from $250 million.

 

Qualifications:

·University Engineering Degree from an accredited university.

·Professional Engineer with a minimum of 12 years of project experience in the oil industry, and with a minimum of 4 years in leading roles, involving a number of internal and external stakeholders

·Experience working with engineering design consultants

·Excellent oral and written communications skills.

·Well-developed project management, problem solving, conflict resolution, decision-making, organization, planning and leadership skills.

·PMP designation beneficial

·A collaborative, team and service oriented work style with excellent interpersonal skills.

·Committed to continuous technical learning and personal development.

·Valid drivers license.

·Ability to travel within Canada.
