Facilities Engineer Job

Responsible for maintaining the physical infrastructure and equipment within a defined production area. As the Facilities Engineer you will work with a team of technicians in Clothes Care manufacturing operation. In this role you will make critical engineering decisions in a timely manner. You will report directly to the Facilities Leader/Manager. Essential Responsibilities *Live, promote and teach the GE Production System philosophy and drive continuous improvement in the technical process areas. Coach and develop team leaders to ensure standard work and escalation processes are followed * Lead the mechanical support of Clothes Care manufacturing equipment. * Lead major maintenance jobs through all phases (planning, staffing, execution, verification, and start-up). * Drive the identification, documentation, and completion of all preventative maintenance tasks. * Manage all equipment install, and redesign projects through all phases * Provide Technical Leadership, Program Management, and Expertise to Plant Operations * Support all plant objectives in the areas of EHS, Schedule Attainment, Spoilage Yield, Labor Overtime, Productivity, Spare Parts cost controls and Lean Manufacturing *First response to our maintenance employees when guidance or assistance is required. * Establish, develop, implement and sustain world-class practices in our T.P.M. (total plant maintenance) program and drive continuous improvement in the areas of uptime and cost controls * Coordinate with Advanced Manufacturing Engineer (AME) efforts to insure operational efficiency goals are met * Provide support, direction and training to AME, Process Improvement Engineers, maintenance, systems and shop projects with specification, drawings, equipment/process acceptance, and trouble-shooting * Initiate and integrate activities to resolve repetitive production problems and implement preventive maintenance programs on key pieces of equipment to improve process output reliability * Provide leadership to hourly maintenance employees to ensure day-to-day production * Establish measured work practices for maintenance employees, including documentation of work performed and time required to perform it. * Lead, implement and monitor the maintenance processes that support operations and that maximize plant performance while reducing operating costs * Provide training and aid in trouble-shooting and downtime response in specified area of expertise * Drive uptime and equipment reliability improvements through simplification activities Qualifications/Requirements: * Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering or equivalent discipline * Have a basic understanding of machining processes: turning, milling, welding, grinding, Lock Out -Tag Out. * Have a strong mechanical aptitude, and excellent root cause analysis skills. * Demonstrated Project Management skills * Previous Supervisory Experience and/or experience working directly with Production Operations and Operators * Strong Leadership skills including interpersonal, facilitation, communication and team building skills * Proven Analytical and Technical Skills, including Lean and Six-Sigma tools. * Skilled trades management experience * Ability to implement long-term plans into day-to-day operations * Solid Computer skills (i.e. Microsoft suite, software/programming and PLC) Additional Eligibility Qualifications GE will only employ those who are legally authorized to work in the United States for this opening.
