Goodrich Information:
* Managing the installation, servicing and repair of all equipment, buildings and grounds necessary for the continuity of site operations, and the safety of site personnel.
* Ensures the work done adheres to zoning, hazardous waste, and other regulatory requirements.
* Exercises independent judgment in the course of carrying out overall responsibilities and other activities assigned.
* Directs the activities of facility engineers and other support personnel, team leaders, and contractors.

SBU Information:
* Manages the operation and maintenance of the physical plant, supporting utility systems, buildings, and grounds.
* Manages all aspects of the Process Safety Management (PSM) program for the facility.
* Supports manufacturing initiatives focused toward continuous reductions in product cost and cycle time along with corresponding increases in product quality.
* Provides the EHS Team Lead with technical and project engineering support on environmental, health, and safety compliance and improvement initiatives.
* Develops daily goals to maintain equipment and systems that support plant production.
* Develops long term objectives to meet the strategic objectives of the business.
* Identifies and implements facility related capital projects within schedule and budget.
* Provides general Maintenance support to other departments as required. Plans and executes Facilities and Maintenance activities during the annual plant shutdown.
* Maintains a safe, clean, and organized working environment in all areas of the plant.
* Participates on the facility's safety committee.
* Develops and manages policy deployment initiatives for the Facilities and Maintenance groups.
* Provides regular and timely status reports to the Director of Operations.
* Develops and motivates a skilled Facilities and Maintenance workforce.
* Champions change through innovative thinking and use of Six-Sigma and Lean Manufacturing process improvement techniques.
* Establishes and communicates annual objectives for direct reports and reviews performance to objectives in accordance with Goodrich practice.
* Address employee relations issues as needed.
* Ensures that the responsibilities of all indirect reports are clearly defined and communicated.
* Ensures that department leadership assesses the quality and timeliness of completed maintenance work and provides immediate constructive feedback to employees on their workmanship.
* Takes an active role in identifying training opportunities that develop both direct and indirect reports for current responsibilities and for future opportunities.
* Successfully develops and manages annual department and facility capital project budgets.
* Understands and administers company policy as appropriate.
* Develops and maintains relationships with contractors to assist with facilities and maintenance activities as appropriate.
* Continuous Improvement Safety Requirements: Takes an active leadership role to ensure environmental, health and safety compliance is maintained within assigned departments.
* Continuously identifies ways to eliminate safety hazards and improve the overall safety of the workplace.
* Ensures the contractor safety program is effectively communicated and adhered to by all contractors
* Makes recommendations for improving the effectiveness of EHS policies and procedures.
* Leads utilization of Continuous Improvement tools in the Facilities and Maintenance groups including Lean, Six-Sigma, 5S, TPM, KAS, Value Stream Mapping and other CI tools as appropriate.
* Monitors and communicates metrics through the use of visual boards in the work area.
* Takes appropriate and timely action when metrics indicate downward trends or fall below acceptable limits.
* Handling of hazardous materials.

* Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering or related discipline. Master's degree is desired.
* 10 or more years of fulltime relevant experience.
* Possessing a professional engineer's license is highly desired.
* Four to six years of related management experience would also be expected.
* 2 years of CI (TPM or TPS or Six Sigma) is required.
* Ability to communicate effectively in the English language, both orally and in writing, with employees, vendors, regulatory officials, contractors and customers.
* Knowledge of OSHA and environmental regulations, as well as building, electrical, plumbing, civil and mechanical construction codes.
* Knowledge of drawing standards, engineering software (CAD, etc.), control systems, and process instrumentation.
* Strong administrative, organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
* Strong project management skills
* Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite products
* Ability to work as a team member with minimal supervision
* Ability to identify and analyze problems and to exercise creativity to develop and/or implement practical solutions.
* Ability to evaluate his/her work, as well as direct reports, and exercise judgment
* Strong mechanical aptitude and project management skills.
* Ability to obtain Green Belt and Lean Practitioner status as outlined by Goodrich standards.
