Facilities Manager

 

Job Purpose: To successfully manage all processes connected with the maintenance of the physical site, facilities and assets within the Multi-Temperature Distribution Centre in Avonmouth, which is due to commence operations mid 2012. The CDC will be a 435,000 square feet operation, employing circa 1,000 FTE’s and will service 500 stores with a throughput of 1.5 million cases per week

 

 

Key Accountabilities:

 

·         To build relationships with key suppliers of goods and services to ensure the achievement of agreed service levels.

·         To be responsible for co-ordinating health and safety compliance for the RDC in addition to acting as the site expert on risk assessments and Safe Systems of Work to ensure a safe and compliant working environment.

·         To manage the delivery of planned preventative and reactive maintenance on the site to achieve operational continuity and minimisation of cost/loss.

·         To be responsible for the production of cost tracking reports identifying key issues and trends in all aspects of facilities and health and safety to achieve reduction of costs and to raise awareness amongst staff.

·         To lead and develop the Facilities team in order to achieve an engaged and performance focused workforce.

·         To initiate and manage Facilities related projects and work towards ensuring the best and most cost effective use of facilities on site to achieve business plan.

 

Job Knowledge / Skill / Experience:

 

·         Knowledge of industry standards/KPIs

·         Working Knowledge of key Legislation – Health and Safety

·         Skilled in the design of Safe Systems of Work

·         High proficiency in technical aspects of Facilities Management

·         Knowledge of warehouse build and equipment

·         Highly developed communication skills

·         Financial awareness

·         Relevant professional qualifications, e.g. IOSH,

·         Previous FM experience within an industrial setting.

·         Preferable experience of multi-temperature site

·         Proven commitment to a culture of engagement and empowerment

·         Proven ability to advise and recommend on HS issues

·         Experience managing facilities: -

Ø  Budget  circa £50k+ per annum
