Facilities Technical Engineer recruitment

Key Responsibilities:
• Manage corporate in-house technical and engineering services, including, but not limited to, air conditioning, electrical and plumbing services
• Resolve all reactive technical and engineering problems efficiently and with minimal downtime, and in real time
• Maintain routine planned and preventative maintenance procedures to satisfy full cost of ownership
• Experience of management and supervision of approved contractors performance, identifying improvements to best practice, cost effectiveness and adherence to corporate health and safety policies
• Monitor and review the continued relationship with external contractors, and identify service improvements, where applicable
• Evaluate opportunities for continual process improvement of all procedures and practices
• Experienced in managing repairs and improvements to the internal fabric of the working environment, with practical knowledge of construction principles
• Wide and varied knowledge of tender management, with the ability to interrogate contractual documentation
• Experienced understanding of building engineering services provided by other that create dependence on our services
• Knowledge and experience of BMS management systems
• Knowledge and experience in application of best practice health and safety principles
• Ability to understand detailed technical specifications and drawings
• To perform any other duties commensurate with the post
Knowledge and Skills
• Holds a current and relevant electrical or HVAC qualification and understands current legislative and operational procedures (E)
• Qualified in a current and relevant Health and Safety qualification – NEBOSH, IOSH etc (D)
• An additional current technical qualification would be of benefit (D)
• Experience of working within a financial services or ‘blue chip’ organisation (E)
• Ability to work in a team and offer concise direct instruction (E)
• All-round practical skills to carry out a range of repairs, if required (E)
• Suitable and quantifiable experience of contractor management in a range of disciplines (E)
• Experience in tactful communications with staff and stakeholders at all levels (E)
• Experience and understanding of the principles of facilities management, and health and safety (E)
• Proven experience in the Facilities Management / Building Services industry
• Demonstrated understanding of building principles and mechanical systems
