EMCOR Services Aircond seeks five (5) experienced Technicians to operate, monitor, and support critical functions of a Data Center infrastructure. Working under the direction of the Data Center Operations Manager, Technicians interact with client support teams, local contractors, and vendors. Technicians must ensure that facility problems are identified and repaired quickly; contractors deliver quality services; and internal client demands are met. The ideal candidate will develop creative approaches to keep operational costs to a minimum, improve efficiency, and implement consistent maintenance strategies. These positions are located in Alpharetta, Ga.

The selected candidate will operate, monitor, maintain, and respond to abnormal conditions in facilities systems. This will include electrical, mechanical, building maintenance, building monitoring, and control and life safety systems. Tracking and trending operational characteristics; performing minor preventive maintenance as directed; and adhering to site EHS (Environmental Health and Safety) standards and procedures are also required.

The preferred candidate will need two or more years of experience in the mechanical or electrical field. A combination of both is acceptable. Work experience must be at a journeyman or technician level. Prefer experience in data center, hospital or power plant environment. Universal Refrigerant Certification required. An Associate's degree, trade school certification, or other verifiable training in a relevant technical field such as HVAC, electrical, or facilities engineering is desired. Must have excellent understanding of the electrical and mechanical systems used in a data center environment, including: feeders, transformers, generators, switchgear, UPS systems, ATS/STS units, electrical power bus, chillers, air handling units, and CRAC units. Ability to communicate effectively with contractors who perform maintenance or upgrade work on these systems; basic computer skills, including a good working knowledge of Word and Excel; and the ability to learn quickly and address issues as they arise are necessary. These positions require shift work that includes weekends and holidays at a 24 hour facility.
