SUMMARY/GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF RESPONSIBILITIES:

Under direction of the Facility Manager, the Facility Supervisor is responsible for daily building operations including responding to work orders, performing repairs and maintenance of building systems, and overseeing the work of employees and subcontractors who are performing service work. 

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES JOB FUNCTIONS:

·         Supervise and direct work schedules for all craft personnel. 

·         Track work status and completion and coordinate pass down of work orders and preventative maintenance

·         Make recommendations as to the hiring, firing, advancement, promotion or any other status change of personnel.

·         Prepare and present weekly/monthly Technical Progress Reports as required

·         Inspect and diagnose problems to determine corrective actions / repairs in all the trade levels. 

·         Advise Facility Manager of major problems and recommend corrective action.

·         Conduct random inspections to review work while in progress. Ensure procedures are being followed while making certain highest level of quality standards are met.

·         Review completed site work to verify compliance in accordance with applicable plans, procedures and all governing codes.

·         Interface with external and internal customers as required maximizing productivity and minimizing lost time.

·         Maintain adequate levels of tools, equipment, and other maintenance supplies.

·         Coordinates with other trade’s personnel and the warehouse personnel in the identification of proper and correct materials, parts assemblies, and requirements for a variety of requisitions necessary for the job/task.

·         Interpreting, applying and explaining complex codes, regulations and procedures.

·         Responsible for processing departmental time sheets, and submitting them in a timely manner for review by the Facility Manager.

·         Respond to emergency site maintenance as required.

·         Confer with and advise other management personnel regarding maintenance projects and priorities.

·         May occasionally be required to operate CGS-owned motor vehicles.

·         Supports other department staff as needed or directed.

·         Adheres to the established CGS safety and personnel policies and standard operating procedures.

·         Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:

MANDATORY:

·         High school diploma or equivalent

·         U.S. Citizenship.

·         At least five (5) years experience in facilities operations and/or facilities maintenance work (Not Construction).

·         At least two (2) years experience in a leadership or supervisory capacity responsible for scheduling maintenance for craft labor.

·         Must have the ability to supervise, train and motivate subordinates to attain stated objectives.

·         Computer savvy, especially in Microsoft Office Suite.

·         Must have excellent written and oral communication skills.

·         Extensive knowledge of hand and power tools.

·         Ability to obtain a Top Secret Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) level clearance, after hire.

·         Ability to deal with a variety of people in a professional, courteous manner in diversified situations.

·         Medically and physically able to wear a respirator.

·         Mature judgment and ability to work with little or no supervision.

·         Valid state driver’s license.

·         Ability to lift 25 pounds.

·         Ability to pass a pre-hire background and drug screen.

 

PREFERRED:

·         At least six (6) to ten (10) years facility operations management.

·         At least three (3) to five (5) years in a leadership, supervisory or management role.

·         Journeyman licensure in any discipline.

·         Understanding of Government contracts, correspondence, reports and records.

·         Good presentational skills and/or public speaking.
