FAMILY SUPPORT WORKER – HEALTHY FAMILIES PROGRAM
Healthy Families Program offers home-based services to expectant families and new parents, beginning prenatal or shortly after the birth of the child. The program is a comprehensive prevention program that focuses on the safety of the child while at the same time supports the family. Families who participate in the program are offered long-term in-home services until the child is in school or Head Start. Family Support Worker (FSW) helps the family meet its immediate needs; offers emotional support to help the new parents cope with the stresses of parenting a new born, provides prenatal and other health education. Assist in establishing contact with community resources.
- High School Diploma / GED or AA
- Experience working with, or assisting, at-risk children and families
- Knowledge of infant and child development
- Bilingual (English / Spanish) preferred
- Location: Bronx
