Key Roles Responsibilities
Conduct detailed investigations into cases and trends for the purpose of identifying suspicious transactions and preparation of Suspicious Transaction Reports (STR).
To liaise with Business Units and Chennai Transaction Monitoring team (Group Financial Crime Risk Surveillance Centre) and develop effective working relationships in the conduct of transaction monitoring investigations.
Conduct reviews into alerts generated from Customer Matching Reports (CMR) to mitigate Sanction risks and identify customers who are PEPs or linked to adverse news.
Contact point for all external law enforcement agencies in respect to Production Orders to the Bank. Also conducts further review of customers featured in Production Orders for possible misuse of their accounts with the Bank.
Provide pro-active support to Business Units and senior management in ensuring the Bank operates in accordance with legal, regulatory and Group requirements in respect of the identification and timely reporting of STRs.
In respect of transaction monitoring, establish and develop effective working relationships with BMLPOs, Business Units, Group Financial Crime Risk, Chennai Transaction Monitoring team and Compliance.
Conduct quality assurance reviews on work performed by the Chennai Transaction Monitoring team and CMR team.
Ensure that records of suspicious transactions are kept in accordance with the Bank's record retention requirements.
Ensure that alerts raised by the Transaction Monitoring system are concluded satisfactorily and investigations adequately documented.
Coordinate information requests from Commercial Affairs Department relating to STRs and ensure that they are promptly attended to. Maintain all records evidencing the Bank's compliance with respect to each request. Ensure compliance with Singapore regulations (specifically MAS 626 and such other regulations as disseminated by Legal Compliance, Singapore).
In the absence of the Regional Head of FCIO, represent the Transaction Monitoring unit on relevant internal committees.
Qualifications Skills
