(FDG) Software Engineer 3 Job in Mclean, Virginia Us

Northrop Grumman Information Systems is seeking a software engineer who will support a variety of software integration and development, and deployment tasks associated with the United Kingdom's MOD Future Deployable GeoInt (FDG) operational system (IOC/FOC).

This system will provide a data centric, workflow driven, geospatial intelligent data management, and data discovery and dissemination capability for the UK MOD community. The software engineer will be required to be fluent with Agile development C++ ESRI technologies due to the schedule required to complete this development effort.

Minimal international travel (up to 10%) may be required to support engineer and integration efforts at the UK development and integration facility. All development activities will be performed in the northern Virginia area.

This position is contingent upon contract award, budget and/or customer approval.

Basic Qualifications:

Degree in computer science, information science, electrical engineering with at least 5 years of experience with a Bachelor's degree or 3 years with a Master's. Four additional years of experience may be substituted for the degree requirement.

Qualified candidates must also have:

  • 3 years ESRI ArcGIS Desktop/Server development, configuration, and integration experience.

  • Experience with Agile Development processes.

  • Experience using a formal DR tracking system such as Agile.

  • Excellent oral communication, writing, and organizational skills.

  • 5 years experience with C++ and or C#.

  • Experience with Open GIS consortium standards such as WMS, WFS, and CSW.

  • Occasional International travel (up to 10%) may be required.

  • Selected candidate must be willing and able to obtain a DoD Top Secret clearance should it be required at a later date for the program.

    Preferred Qualifications:

  • Active DoD Top Secret clearance is preferred at the start of employment.

  • Experience with the production, storage, and dissemination of geographic data and products and associated work roles (e.g. Data Steward, Geospatial Analyst).

  • Experience supporting Enterprise (multi-system and cross division) development.

  • Experience with system integration, and transition on virtualized (VMware),Blade (Dell).

  • CJMTK CGA Experience.
