Allison Transmission is currently looking for a FEA Structural Analyst at their headquarters in Indianapolis, IN. Position Description Perform finite element analysis (FEA) on transmission components, sub-systems, systems, integration and installation. Product responsibilities are transmission design analysis and powertrain integration/installation analysis. Primary duties include supporting product design, development, product performance improvement, design robustness and reducing reliance on physical testing. Perform finite element analyses on transmission components: shafts, splines, bearings, gears, housings, bolted joints, and flexplates. Perform powertrain integration and installation analyses. Use analysis to impact transmission design and development. Perform design trade-offs and optimization. Perform failure analysis of hardware. Provide analytical engineering consultation Position Requirements Required: BS degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience required Experience in FEA software UGNX and ABAQUS required. Extensive and advanced knowledge and understanding in material strength required. Extensive experience in material processes including heat treatment required. Conventional stress analysis experience required. Excellent written and spoken English required required. Experience using Windows (or possibly Unix) required. Experience using MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project) required. Planning and organizational skills required. Preferred: MS degree in Mechanical Engineering and/or equivalent experience preferred Experience with iSight and/or NX Topology preferred. Experience in transmission systems and vehicle dynamics preferred. Experience with Matlab/Simulink analysis software preferred. Click Here To Apply!
