Title: Federal Account Director, Carrier Sales
Location: Mclean, VA

Summary
The Federal Account Director is responsible for new sales and account development, calling on carrier and telecommunications service providers doing business with Agencies and SI’s. The Federal Account Director will represent the full suite of Level 3 products and use an array of prospecting activities to generate new sales.

Essential Duties
* Responsible for developing sales in the designated target market(s) by identifying new sales opportunities by contacting prospective customers by cold calling, premise visits, networking, lead generation, proposal submission, and customer appointments.
* Provides accurate and detailed weekly forecast funnel of identified and proposed opportunities in order to meet or exceed sales quota requirements.
* Develops and manages customer relationships for assigned accounts in order to gain strategic positioning with decision makers, retain existing revenue and attain additional business.
* Develops and implements actions to create additional opportunities to cross-sell and up-sell accounts to increase overall total customer spend with the company. Assists in creating account plans and strategies to win new business from both new as well as existing relationships.
* Learns and develops further knowledge of new technologies and selling points which includes enhancing expertise in the company's product application technologies.

Education and Experience
* 5-7 years of telecommunications sales experience, with a minimum 2+ years calling on Carriers/Service Providers
* Must have solid understanding of Government procurement practices and “sell to” and “sell through” model
* Track record of generating sales with Tier 1 telecommunications carriers and Prime contractors
* Must have current responsibility for hunting for new business and new logo generation
Experience in solution selling: IP, data, and voice network services
Proven success in managing the sales lifecycle, prospecting, cold calling, and selling to close
* Must be able to define clear hunter methodology to pipeline/funnel management and sales planning activity
Knowledge, Skills or Abilities
* Current experience calling on organizations in the Government Carrier space strongly preferred
* Experience in tactical, technical, and strategic business application sales
Experience with the SalesForce forecasting system
* Target Account Selling (or equivalent) is desired
Self-motivated, highly organized, pro-active, results-oriented professional with an ability to work with minimum direction
* Ability to travel to customer facilities as required to secure business
