Summary

Primary responsibility is to drive new sales growth. Ability to penetrate targeted clients and build relationships that lead to either SOW or Task Order requirements is imperative. Will be the primary person responsible for driving the initiation and closing of sales contracts. Job responsibilities include maintaining accurate sales funnel and forecasts. Must be able to handle all account management responsibilities including solution creation, solution offering, configuration management, order issuance, service delivery, service management and revenue recognition. This position requires a balance of strategic and tactical thought leadership.
Essential Duties

*Demonstrates in-depth knowledge of telecommunications contract vehicles (Networx, WITS 3) and Level 3's competitive positioning on each.

*Identifies, bids on, negotiates, and closes new sales opportunities in order to meet and exceed established sales and revenue quotas. Provides comprehensive account plans and strategies to win new business from both new as well as existing accounts.

*Develops and manages customer relationships in order to gain strategic positioning with decision makers, retain existing revenue and attain additional business. Develops additional business opportunities within the assigned agencies by implementing action plans to cross-sell and up-sell accounts to increase overall total agency spend with the company.

*Provides input to sales management about trends and changes taking place within the agencies organization, and makes recommendations about future courses of action necessary for the company to improve its position with the agency.

*Demonstrates knowledge of the Level 3 suite of products. May have more in-depth knowledge on a subset of products or services.

*Observes and participates in presenting products and services that can benefit the agencies needs.

*Provides accurate and detailed weekly forecast funnel of identified and proposed opportunities in order to meet or exceed sales quota requirements
Education and Experience
* 8+ years of telecommunications or similar data center solutions sales experience.
* Minimum 3+ years of demonstrated sales success
* Current experience selling a recurring service module via government contract vehicles.
* Experience in solution selling IP, data, voice, and video network services strongly preferred.
* Experience in strategic, technical, and business communications application sales.
Knowledge, Skills or Abilities
Strong communication skills and proficiency in selling to the close.
* Self-motivated, pro-active, results-oriented professional with an ability to work with minimum direction.
* Experience with the Siebel forecasting system preferred.
* Proficient in MS office products: Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
* Bachelor's Degree preferred.
