JPA is currently seeking a Federal Financial Analyst/Accounting professional to join a consulting team that is assisting a DoD activity in the evaluation of its financial reporting processes. The scope includes internal controls, financial systems, and regulatory compliance. The project objective is improved readiness for a financial statement audit, as required by the Chief Financial Officers (CFO) Act of 1990. Work will be performed at a client site in the National Capitol Region..
Position requirements – Mandatory:
- U.S. Citizen
- Active secret security clearance (Investigation completed within five years) TS preferred
- Strong analytical skills
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Working knowledge of MS word/Visio/Excel
- Bachelor’s degree
Position Requirements – Candidates who have demonstrated knowledge and experience in one or preferably more of the following areas may be considered for these positions:
- Federal Financial Statement audit readiness
- Federal accounting
- Analysis, documentation and testing of financial processes and associated internal controls
- DoD Financial statement preparation processes
- Business process documentation
Primary Responsibilities:
- Evaluate business processes that produce accounting transactions and evaluate internal controls over financial reporting, in support of audit readiness
- Evaluate compliance with applicable regulations and accounting standards
- Present findings and corrective recommendations to a government client
- Prepare plans to improve financial audit readiness and monitor progress
Compensation:
- Salary levels: Commensurate with level of experience. $95,000 to $100,000/yr range
