Fertility Nurse / IVF Nurse

I have an exciting new role available for a Fertility Nurse / IVF Nurse in Warrington. I am now recruiting for a new cutting edge facility that provides patients from all over the world with outstanding care in women’s health, fertility treatment, genetics and day surgery.

You will ensure the best possible quality individualised care is given to all patients undergoing fertility management and assisted conception treatment. As Fertility Nurse you must become a proactive member of the nursing team, offering support to the consultants and the management team in the maintenance of the highest standards of governance.

Responsibilities and Objectives

• Provide day-to-day management of clinical activities, ensuring appropriate guided professional input to each patient’s care
• Offer highly empathetic, personalised care to each patient, keeping them fully informed throughout their care pathway
• Work closely with the team at the Centre for Reproductive Health and the consultants to ensure that the care of each patient is coordinated to maximize their outcomes.
• Take an active role in the maintenance and development of all quality and risk management systems.
• Liaise with other specialists and healthcare practitioners as necessary
• Assist with the continuing development of evidence-based clinical protocols
• Provide appropriate input into the implementation of patient’s pathways
• Monitor key performance indicators and be aware of opportunities to deliver the best quality of care
• Participate in a weekly on-call rota (1:3) to answer patient’s queries over the telephone

Qualifications and Experience

• Fully qualified trained nurse with a minimum of 2 years post registration experience in the field of fertility and assisted conception, and Member of Royal College of Nursing (RCN) and British Fertility Society (BFS)
• Conversant with the Human Fertilisation and Embryology Authority (HFEA) Code of Practice and other regulatory bodies policies and quality standards
• Strong time management skills
• Able to communicate effectively at all levels
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail
• Able to work as part of a multidisciplinary team providing support to patients and colleagues across all functions and roles
• Able to perform transvaginal and transabdominal ultrasound scans
• Willingness to learn new clinical and management skills
