SEA CON® is expanding our Fiber Optics Department and is seeking several motivated, organized, and team-oriented individuals to work in Fiber Optics as multi functioning Technicians.  We offer competitive compensation and a company paid employee benefits package which includes medical, dental, and life insurance as well as PTO and a 401 (k) Plan.  Come join in our casual, friendly atmosphere.

 

 

Some of the essential duties and responsibilities include the following:

§  Termination of Electrical/Fiber Optic contacts.

§  Inspect terminated contacts using optical contact inspection equipments.

§  Work from engineering drawing and procedures.

§  Work and operate over molding equipment and chemicals.

§  Prepare electrical/fiber optic cables/connectors assemblies per engineering drawings and instructions.

§  Work with optical measurements and sandblasting equipment.

§  Be cognizant of Company’s ISO 9001-2008 QMS Policy and procedures; their relevance and importance in daily activities and strive to continually contribute to the achievement of the quality objectives.

§  Perform all other duties as assigned.

 

We are looking for candidates with the following qualifications:

§  High school graduate or equivalent

§  Able to read, write and speak English

§  Able to read and understand engineering drawings

§  Able to work with minimum supervision

§  Hand soldering experience preferred

§  Familiar with Theory and Principles of Fiber Optic

§  Fiber Optic connector termination experience preferred

§  Test Insertion Loss (IL) of Fiber Optic Connector experience preferred

§  Familiar with OTDR and Fusion Splice equipments

§  Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook

§  Must to have valid California driver’s license

§  Must be able and willing to work frequent overtime

§  Travel may be required
