FIC Regional Business Manager – APAC recruitment
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Support front office staff in first line of defense supervisory duties:
ØEnsure front office is aware of and in compliance with standing orders
ØImplement controls required by new standing orders
ØSupport the front office in assessing and managing risks on an ongoing basis
ØPerforms post-implementation reviews of approved initiatives to ensure processes are operating within approved parameters
ØPerform a general review of trading activity on a regular basis, alert risk functions of potential red flags as they arise
ØAppropriately resolve or escalate issues as they arise (escalation to Compliance, HR, Ops Risk, Sr. Management, etc.)
ØReview risk limit breaches and other exceptions
ØMonitor trends in cancels and amends, held trades for potential issues / inappropriate behavior and escalate to risk teams as necessary
ØReview monthly brokerage levels to ensure costs are manageable, usage is reasonable and concentration is expected
• Ensure timely completion of management actions plans;
• Co-ordinate audits and risk reviews between functions and front office teams;
• Assists with preparation of strategic business reviews, actively engagement with all functional groups to ensure the review incorporates a holistic view of risk and financial performance metrics;
• Participate in the formation of regular business budgets and the subsequent analysis of significant variances, identifying potential areas of concern;
• Represents the business in business-specific or broader support and control function projects;
• Supports the business in preparing NBC reviews; actively liaison’s with all functional groups in the preparation of this material and to ensure their timely engagement and an accurate representation of start-up and future state support and control requirements in the submission;
• Lead or support new projects as required / assigned by Global Business Manager;
• Nurture a risk-aware team in a proactive manner and ensure staff are in compliance with mandatory training.
KEY SKILLS / EXPERIENCES:
• Previous proven Capital Markets experience – products and markets;
• Financial analysis including financial models and income statements;
• Familiarity with operational control and support environments and issues;
• Program Management;
• Excellent writing and communication skills.
