FICC Settlements Manager, AVP

You will have oversight for a small team of two people who are responsible for ensuring the team deliver the following responsibilities in an efficient manner:
- Instruction of trades to various custodians
- Ensure trades are agreed and released into the market by our counterparts
- Chase unmatched and failed trades
- Fails reporting
- Invoicing and payment support of OTC Commodity products
- Daily reconciliations
- Preparation of all relevant documentation for settlement
- Establish and maintain close working relationships with the other Settlement teams around the globe. As well as with traders, custodians, counterparts and other areas in and outside of the bank
- Identify and escalate prudentially to direct and senior management.
As manager of the team you will be the key person responsible for acting as the point of escalation for problem resolution and provide control assurance through the review of daily tasks, checklist and reconciliation reports. You will provide effective guidance and leadership to the London Settlements team, produce and maintain KPIs/MIS and have the ability to prioritize and problem solve
The ideal candidate will need to have previous experience in a Settlements related role as a team leader/ junior manager preferably with a FICC back ground. My client is looking for someone with experience in securities settlements specifically fixed income but equities and OTC commodities experience is also very desirable.

You must be confident in learning new functions and processes and be able to question current procedures with a focus on continuous process improvement and be able to deliver high levels of quality service to clients on a daily basis under tight timeframes.
My client is also preferably looking to recruit someone from a top tier Investment Banking background.
