DEPARTMENT OVERVIEW

The Commodities Group sits within Fixed Income and is a client-focused business providing trading partners with both market insights and leading Commodity investment and hedging solutions across a full suite of commodity asset classes. We have a global team of c.100 trading, sales and research professionals. The commodities business consists of personnel across Calgary, London, New York/Stamford, Singapore, Sydney and Zurich.

The Commodity Energy Sales and Trading Team provides corporate clients with a comprehensive set of hedging advice and solutions across the energy commodities, alongside structured hedging and financing which are one of Credit Suisse’s key strengths. Operating as a small tight-knit team makes joint and mutual coverage of clients key, and with stronger trading capability this year in European gas (TTF and formulas) and oil products, more execution coverage and new client/market focus within sales is a sensible conservative extension to the energy business.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

The EMEA Energy Sales team is a dedicated sales force providing energy hedging solutions to the Company’s existing clients, as well as constantly focused on growing the franchise. Our sales team works in partnership with Industry and MA Bankers, the Credit Suisse Private Bank, traders, research and quantitative analysts to furnish clients with market insight, industry evolution and innovation, and well-structured risk cognisant hedging ideas. While training on the job is an essential part of the business, the ideal candidate brings a deep knowledge in derivatives and commodity markets. 

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

Essentials:

Strong track record in a corporate Commodity Sales role.

Strong knowledge in structured products, derivatives

Desirable:

Deep knowledge of the energy commodities, coverage of an additive market/client group

Very analytical, attention to detail, strong communication skills, further European language of advantage
