If you are looking for an opportunity to expand your technical power protection engineering skills by providing SEL customer support, training and representing SEL at conferences, this is the position for you. SEL is looking for an experienced power protection engineer that has been utilizing SEL products for the last several years to provide highly technical support through customer visits and training. In addition, the Field Application Engineer will represent SEL at conferences with white papers and presentations, visit colleges and universities and assist in writing product specifications and manuals. This position maybe located in Pullman or Bothell, WA or Boise, ID. SELs corporate office is located in Eastern Washington where you'll enjoy an unmatched quality of life. Field Application Engineer Responsibilities: Provide power system engineering, protection, and troubleshooting expertise. Help customers apply SEL products through visits, demonstrations, training courses and telephone contact. Contribute to product specifications, application and testing software and literature. Participate in SEL marketing and sales activities and industry technical meetings and conferences. Maintain and improve knowledge of all SEL products. Teach in training schools for customers and SEL personnel. Follow and improve marketing, sales and engineering quality procedures. Qualifications: B.S. in Electrical Engineering from an accredited college or university Over 5 years experience in protection of electric power systems Excellent technical training, speaking and writing skills Experience with protective relay applications and industry practices Experience using SEL products Ability to travel up to 35% throughout the northwest and western Canada Ability to learn new skills and assume new responsibilities Ability to work cooperatively in team environment Background check results satisfactory to SEL Negative drug test result(s) Preferred Qualifications: MSEE degree PE license SEL is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer.
