Job Summary:
The Field Application Engineer is responsible for sales and customer support. In addition, some interaction with the manufacturing process is required. This position works closely with design engineers and suppliers to ensure component selections meet both quality expectations and product performance requirements. Duties and responsibilities may be added, deleted, or changed at any time at the discretion of management, formally or informally, either verbally or in writing.
Qualifications:
1. 4 Year BS degree in Electrical Engineering or similar field.
2. 5-7 years of engineering experience. Must have credible and specific working level engineering experience that illustrates solid foundation in an engineering expertise/function.
3. Aerospace, medical, or defense industry experience preferred.
4. Experience working in a plant/manufacturing environment with electronic components for engineering or QA

Essential Duties / Job Responsibilities:
1. Acts as the internal technical expert.
2. Influences design engineers in new product development.
3. Utilizes technical knowledge to assess the potential application of company products, offering solutions that meet customer needs.
4. Applies fundamental engineering principles to create practical solutions to technical challenges and provides technical support to internal and external customers.
5. Assists sales force in sale of company products.
6. Demonstrates and explains product or service to customer representatives, such as engineers, sales, and other professionals.
7. Provides technical services to clients relating to use and operations of components.
8. Supports TCA sales and service staff with technical information, sample submissions, specifications or other related requirements.
9. Interfaces with other technical support personnel, engineering and product management to escalate and resolve issues.
10. Provides feedback from customers to product management and engineering teams via appropriate systems.
11. Authors’ technical knowledge base material for use by other technical support personnel and/or customers and partners.
12. Travels, as required, to customer sites to resolve customer issues.
13. Supports the department Key Measures and company Business Plan.
14. Performs other work-related duties and responsibilities as assigned by the PMD Director or other management personnel.
