DESCRIPTION:
The Field Applications Engineer will be based in the D.C. Area and will cover all Federal sales in the U.S. for pre and post sales support in the deployment process for monitoring access solutions. He/she will be the technical field expert and company ambassador for key market segments and ensure that the company’s performance exceeds customer expectations and that all information required by the customer is provided in a timely manner.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Perform engineering work that involves the design, evaluation, planning, testing and operation of Net Optics products for our worldwide customers and partners
· Conduct technical investigations, testing, documents results and provides feedback and/or design recommendations to the team for product enhancements and competitive analysis data
· Pre-sales tasks include delivering technical presentations and defining system level solutions for our global customers working closely with the sales and business development teams
· Post-sales functions include working with our engineering team on integration of software, hardware and firmware to support our customers that are integrating our solutions into their network infrastructure
· Review, write, and provide update to technical documentation and provide quality assurance and review of technical reports written by the team
· Serve as a technical team lead for end user/reseller activity, trade shows, product demo and pre/post sales support
· Provide guidance and acts as the team lead for our customer beta program by organizing activity, giving proper feedback through documentation and maintaining solid customer relations
· Will be called upon to travel to customer sites and is expected to conducts oneself in a manner which is professional and lives up to the Net Optics company brand
QUALIFICATIONS:
· High school diploma or equivalent, bachelors degree a plus
· 2-3 years of experience in Network Performance/Security Monitoring
· Understanding of TCP/IP Protocols
· Experience conducting product demos
· Interacting professionally with customers in selling (or sales) situations
· Must have strong written and verbal communication skills coupled with a "can-do" attitude
· Must have the ability to simultaneously handle multiple projects under strict time constraints within a dynamic team environment
· Solid follow-up and attention to detail
· Provide 24/7 customer support
· Must have active Security Clearance
