Job Description Scientist III - Field Compliance Manager Duties We are seeking a seasoned Field Compliance Manager (FCM) based in our Camarillo or Bakersfield, CA office to manage construction projects mostly in Southern California. This position will be responsible for field management on behalf of our clients to ensure construction activities remain in compliance with permitted conditions. The FCM will be responsible for management of field staff including biologists, restoration ecologists, archaeologists and other resource disciplines. The FCM will be responsible for safety, compliance, reporting, and communication with construction crews, regulators, clients, and project management staff. Project opportunities are mostly in southern California and Central Valley with some opportunities in Arizona, and Nevada but may include work elsewhere in California or the U.S. Skill Requirements Understanding and experience with construction of large energy, oil and gas, transportation, infrastructure, and/or transit projects. Ability to work with field collection equipment, databases, and reporting tools. The ability to lead and inspire a team to succeed, develop strong working relationships, and savvy in compliance monitoring practices are key to this position. The candidate must also be very organized, possess a strong presence, and have the ability to manage various employees and subcontractors. The candidate must understand CEQA-based documentation and reporting requirements for mitigation monitoring. Experience Requirements Qualified candidates will have direct experience in compliance monitoring on large construction projects. A fundamental understanding of the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA), Federal Clean Water Act, Endangered Species Act (state and federal) and the National Historic Preservation Act is required. Travel to project sites is required for this position. Education Bachelor degree in environmental science, natural resources, construction management, or related field.
