Job Description Construction Field Engineer The AECOM Richmond, Virginia office offers a dynamic atmosphere and career growth opportunities for a staff-or mid-level Environmental Construction Engineer with strong communication skills who is interested in providing field support for remediation system construction, operation, and maintenance; subsurface investigation; and compliance monitoring services for a variety of local and national clients. The position will provide technical, design, and engineering support for groundwater and soil remediation projects, including system design, construction, operation, maintenance, and testing. The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical aptitude with experience in mechanical/civil contracting, including an understanding of basic electrical supply, piping, electrical motors, process flow, and controls. The candidate will ideally have experience in general construction and environmental remediation/construction. Hands-on experience/ interests preferred (construction, home repair, auto maintenance). Employee will support the Engineering and Remediation team in cost estimating, general engineering and design, field inspection, and on-site field support. Typical projects include groundwater treatment systems, soil remediation (in situ and ex situ), construction of support buildings/facilities, groundwater and soil sampling, and wastewater treatment. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated and able to take on and complete assigned tasks with limited supervision. He or she will interact with internal and external clients, requiring strong oral and written communication skills. The position will involve extensive fieldwork, including extended travel where necessary (lodging and per diem will be provided). Following field assignments, the employee will assist in compiling and analyzing data and writing reports. Specific requirements include: - Bachelor s Degree in Engineering (Civil, Mechanical, or Environmental) or Construction Management - 1 to 5 years experience conducting environmental assessment/remediation projects - HAZWOPER 40-hour training a plus - Fundamentals of Engineering/Engineer-in-Training certification preferred What We Offer AECOM employees around the world enjoy a wide range of benefits and competitive compensation package.
