Hourly hiring rate: $17.00 to $23.00 commensurate with experience.

 

Position Summary:

The Field Cost Accountant is an operations and project support person who, through competitive bidding, obtains services, supplies, equipment, and any other materials needed to successfully complete project task requirements.  The Field Accountant is also responsible for project cost tracking and providing computer generated status reports both internally to WRS project management and to the project client as necessary.   Field Cost Accountant’s must reconcile site records/spreadsheets to Timberline daily.

Field Accountant’s assigned to EPA project sites also must prepare and reconcile 1900-55s daily using RCMS software.

 

Typical Job Duties Requirements:

·          Receive written and or oral assignments from supervisor.

·          Procure materials, supplies, and services through competitive vendor pricing and negotiations. 

·          Maintain project financial files in an orderly manner and accessible to supervisor when needed.

·          Ensure purchase orders are completed prior to site work with all proper supporting documentation.

·          Maintain PO’s with necessary change orders and close out.

·          Ensure Receipts(Accruals) are completed weekly and also reviewed and edited weekly based on AP invoices.

·          Ensure final lien releases are sent and returned signed before final financial reporting is done.

·          On fixed price projects analyze prior month costs to complete versus current month, be aware of variances and the reason why.

·          Review project variances to original bid/budget be prepared to explain variances

·          Exercise caution and follow all established OSHA, company, and other  health and safety rules and  regulations.

·          Perform project cost tracking and generate internal and external computer reports as required by supervisor and the client.

·          Perform site clerical functions such as typing, filing, copying, faxing, answering the telephone, and housekeeping,              

·          Pick up site supplies when necessary.

·          Assist with the site operations mobilization and demobilization.

·          Assist with site labor as required by supervisor.

·          Perform any other assignment required to successfully support a program/project.

·          Minimum two years related experience.

·          Proficiency in Timberline software preferred.

 

Other responsibilities would be assigned by the supervisor.

 

This type of position is project based and would require travel upon project completion if the employee wishes to remain employed. 

 

Requirements:

·          Must possess basic accounting knowledge and be familiar with project/task budgeting. 

·          BS degree in accounting required.

·          Minimum two years related experience with degree; three years without degree.

·          Proficiency in Timberline software strongly preferred.

·          Requires extensive travel to projects for extended periods of time in accordance to project/company need.

·          40-hour OSHA hazardous waste operations and emergency response standards training required. 

·          Must possess basic computer skills to perform cost tracking and report preparation. 

·          Must be able to anticipate and resolve issues as consulted with supervisor.

·          Some in town travel may be needed for completion of some tasks.

·          While performing the duties of this position, the incumbent frequently sits and stand for extended periods of time and routinely walks. Conditions of terrain may vary from job to job.

·          Frequently uses hands and fingers to operate equipment such as calculator, computer, etc.  Routinely lifts objects up to 50 pounds in weight.  Strong listening and verbal skills are required to facilitate positive, safe and appropriate interaction with other associates, clients and subcontractors. 

·          Effective communication with coworkers, suppliers, subcontractors and regulators.  Excellent verbal and written skills are necessary.
