The Field Development Specialist reinforces training, development, and coaching to sales and service representatives in support of the acquisition of sales and delivery of quality customer service. In this role, you will work closely with Branch and Area Managers to ensure new representatives are proficient and able to meet Personal Markets objectives and through your coaching, improve the performance of branch offices. In this role, you will also conduct specialized needs based training to assist Sales and Service representatives with obstacles and may participate in projects by conducting analysis and recommending effective solutions.
Responsibilities:
- Works with new sales and service representatives in a one-on-one capacity to reinforce skills attained during new hire training.
- Provides continuous feedback and suggestions about new hires to Branch Managers. Partners with Branch and Area Managers to coach representatives as necessary to bridge specific knowledge or skills gaps through individual development plans.
- Observes trends (e.g. recurring gap in knowledge), and communicates to Instructional Design team and Classroom Trainers. Provides feedback to classroom training staff post-installation on process and assessment of new hires.
- Participates in the evaluation of emerging training issues; makes recommendations to enhance or create new training programs.
- Delivers group training for key initiatives including new products and systems enhancements within assigned territory, as part of ongoing staff development
- Provides support in development of training recommendations to address specific business initiatives. May include research, planning, organization and delivery of technical training programs for territory. May assist with design and administration of training and development surveys to determine training effectiveness.
- Bachelors Degree or equivalent training, plus 5 - 7 years of related technical experience required.
- Strong knowledge of training techniques and procedures essential.
- Advanced knowledge of department duties, responsibilities and procedures necessary.
- Demonstrated ability to coach and train.
- Must be able to conduct group and one-on-one training.
- Strong written and oral communication skills required.
- Attain and maintain current state insurance license in property, casualty and life.
