Field Human Resources Manager
SUMMARY:
The Field HR Manager is responsible for the support of the field teams of a geographical area with regard to employee relations, recruitment, coaching and development, and succession planning. This position will serve as an advisor to all DD’s, managers and employees with regard to legal compliance, performance management, policy direction, formulation and interpretation. Our goal is to create a consistent customer and employee experience in both brands, and foster a culture that values career development and personal growth.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Work closely with Training Director on training and development programs
- Work with RD’s on Succession planning – analysis of talent pipeline to ensure constant flow of talent and back-up (both internal and external) to all DD’s and SM’s
- Provides coaching and counseling support to Directors in regards to discipline and discharge. Ensure fairness and consistency and shares company best practices and expectations
- Partners with Directors on Employee Relations issues including, but not limited to, in-house investigations, counseling employees, termination decisions and appropriate documentation; trains and develops Directors on how to handle employee relations issues
- Conducts investigations into complaints filed through the confidential HR hotline, Ethics Hotline, government agencies, or directly.
- Partner with Corporate on high risk employee relations concerns and take action consistent with company policies and practices
- Answers management and employee questions related to policies and procedures
- Support the ongoing training and development in the Regions by ensuring development plans are put into place and ongoing training is happening at all levels
- Maintains on-going communication with District Directors and Regional Directors regarding concerns or developing issues
- Serves as a confidential resource for both Management and Employee population
- Provides recommendations and solutions to improve HR processes and compliance with state and federal laws
- Applies an understanding of key legal precedents, policies and practices to protect the interests of the organization and individual employees
· Keep an active pulse on employee issues and recommend creative solutions offering alternatives or interventions as needed
- Conducts Exit Interviews for Store Managers and communicate feedback as necessary
- Conducts Field training for stores and Directors as required
- Provides recruiting and staffing support to the Districts/Stores including networking, interviewing, screening and references as needed
- Performs additional duties as assigned and requested
- An active member of the Field Leadership team
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
- Thorough understanding of HR functions and corresponding state and federal laws
- Demonstrated leadership ability
- Prior HR experience in multi-site, multi-state locations
- Excellent organization and communication skills
- Experienced in a fast paced, evolving environment

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor Degree in Human Resources or related discipline
- Minimum of 5 years Field HR experience with multi-state responsibility
- Prior HR experience in the retail industry strongly preferred
- Proven employee relations background
- Understand field operations and can identify with employees at all levels
- Strong knowledge of State and Federal laws, including Wage and Hour, FMLA, ADA and other related areas
- Completion of professional PHR or SPHR certification strongly preferred
- Must be proficient in the use of basic software programs such as Excel, Word and able to effectively use common office equipment
