We are currently seeking applicants willing to relocate and/or live within 60 miles of a major metro airport in the following locations: Atlanta, GA; Los Angeles, CA; Grand Rapids, MI.

THE POSITION:
We are looking for a highly motivated, entry level Mechanical/Electrical Engineer who recently graduated college or an experienced Technical Service engineer willing to learn. This position does require extensive travel (80%), twisting, bending and lifting items up to 50-75lbs. The trips can be long-term in duration (4-8 weeks) or short term assignments (1-3 days). You will be expected to provide on-call and emergency services to our customers. This position primarily reports remotely to the Technical Service Department located in Vernon Hills, Ill.
You will be responsible for delivering technical service and support to our customers by providing commissioning, preventive maintenance, training and troubleshooting. Services are performed on Tetra Pak Processing Equipment - specifically Centrifuges, Homogenizers, Standardizers, Plate Heat Exchangers, Tubular Heat Exchangers, Scrape surface Heat Exchangers, Pumps, Valves, Mixers.
Within 2+ years, this individual should advance into a Field Service Engineer for Systems. In this role, you will be performing long-term assignments commissioning complete systems that combine all the components above in a single control panel and PLC; including tanks, valves, pumps, and control loops utilizing ABB, AB, and Siemens controls.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Conduct on-site training of customer personnel
- Understanding high and low voltage controls, programming variable frequency drives, reading parts manuals, electrical drawings and flow charts
- Establish and maintain a continuous positive relationship with customers, including support and follow-up on customers' concerns and problems
- Schedule and plan preventative maintenance work with customers
- Perform troubleshooting and fault finding services on site and by phone
- Responsible for all travel and expenses with attention to detail, timeliness and accuracy for reimbursement
- Detailed and accurate reporting, service work, training for services delivered to customers
- Provide Technical emergency phone support and demand service for our 24 Hour support line

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- 2-5 years technical experience in the food/beverage/dairy-process related industry or recently completed degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or Associate Degree in Engineering from a Technical/Vocational School
- Proven, strong mechanical and electrical skills. This also includes preventive maintenance in the field of commissioning and start-up of large equipment
- Proven Ability to maintain positive customer relationships through strong technical skills
- Maintain schedules, good interpersonal skills, and ability to positively influence the work of others in a non-reporting relationship
- Strong follow-up on customer's questions and concerns
- Work independently with minimum supervision
- Willing to travel extensively both in USA and Canada 80% of the time.
